Hello, and welcome to Emmawad, a space for stories, poems and reflections on everyday life.
My name is Emmawad, and I'm a writer based in the UK. I was inspired by the unemployment situation back in my home country, Nigeria, and wrote about people's job-hunting experiences. This later transitioned into writing about various topics and stories as well as poems.
I hold a Master's degree in English and Creative Writing, and I write to capture memories, explore ideas, connect with readers, and, of course, share people's stories.

Why 'Read and Let's Live'
The phrase depicts our existence, experience and the way we choose to live. Reading is more than the act of looking at words on a page. It can represent learning, acquiring knowledge, understanding others, reflecting on experience, and discovering possibilities beyond our immediate world. It also allows us to encounter lives we have never lived and ideas we have never considered.
Life should be experienced, not merely observed. Knowledge should enrich our existence rather than replace experience, and we should give ourselves permission to participate fully in life.
I'd love to hear what you think. Leave a comment on any post, or get in touch via email.
Thank you for reading.
Emmawad
